We are in the process of revamping Arizona Tourism. As a part of the process, we put together a new ’section’ to determine how quickly we could drive traffic to specific Arizona travel content. Check out Cactus League Spring Training. Our Cactus League section has information on the Arizona Spring Training stadiums, info on hotels near the stadiums and links to buy Spring Training Tickets.

US Military Hotels
I just put together a site for hotel reservations near military bases. The concept is to have geo targeted links for each US military base and to have links show by distance, hotels near military bases. I am using the new Google ad manager program to serve ads on the site. Let me know what you think.
Convention Overflow Hotels
I discovered a need for hotel rooms at conventions where the host hotel is sold out. So, I built a website to fill the niche. It’s a basic Wordpress Site with some of the blog functionality taken out so it looks more like a business web site.
The theme is called INOVE. You can find it at Wordpress.org.
I added a number of plugins to the theme and also added some ads. If you ‘Google’ the term, ‘convention overflow hotels’, this site is already at number one on the list. Hopefully, it will generate some traffic and group hotel reservation leads.

9/12 Phoenix Tea Party
We attended the 9/12 Tea Party in Phoenix, Arizona. The event was well organized and well attended. There are a bunch of pissed off citizens that are tired of the government shoving unwanted programs down our throat. There will be a lot of politicians looking for new jobs in 2010 and 2012. Reports that I’ve read show the attendance at between 3,500-4,000 people.
To get involved please go to: http://iam912.com and sign up. Attend our meetings and learn how we can vote out the politicians that are not following their constitutional oath.
Here are some photos I took at the Phoenix Tea Party. Click on an image and to see a larger version and to also click through as a slide show.
AZ CCW
New dates for the AZ CCW Course being taught by Doug Little from Armed Personal Defense have been announced. The Armed Personal Defense az ccw class meets or exceed the requirements for the State of Arizona CCW. This 8 hour az ccw course is held at Ben Avery shooting facility which is conveniently located just off of I-17 at the Carefree Highway exit in north Phoenix. AZ CCW class work is held in air-conditioned class rooms and range qualification work is done right at the Ben Avery Facility. Armed Personal Defense charges $99 for the az ccw course. The fee includes all necessary az ccw permit instruction materials, az ccw permit application package, Ben Avery range fees and fingerprinting which is necessary for the the AZ CCW permit application. The course fee does not include the $60 az ccw permit application fee payable to the Arizona Department of Public Safety. There is no need to bring the DPS fee to the class. Click the link for more information on the AZ CCW Permit.
Hotels Near Wrigley Field
Wendy and I were just in Chicago and we had the opportunity to visit Wrigley Field. Since I’m in the online hotel booking business, I thought I’d build a site for hotels near Wrigley Field. Take a look and let me know what you think. The site was built using Wordpress which is a great content management tool.
The site uses information from our database of hotels and links to a real-time booking engine.

Another Shot of the Wave
Here is another shot of the Wave. The Wave is just north of Page, Arizona on the way to Kanab, Utah. This is a 4 shot panorama Wave formation. Click the image to see it full size.
The Wave
The ‘Wave’ is about 45 miles north of Page, Arizona. It is an incredible sandstone formation that is shaped like….a wave. I took a few HDR photos of the Wave during our hike. This is a shot of the ‘approach’ to the wave. There are no signs or trails to the actual Wave formation. Fortunately, we had GDS and were able to find the Wave by following stacked stone markers.

Horseshoe Bend
This is a REALLY cool place. Just south of Page, Az is a turnoff to Horseshoe Bend. This is what you’ll see after a 15 minute hike to the edge of the canyon. The photo is 1280 pixels wide so you’ll need to click on the image to see it full size.
